Migraine Voices Africa is a Migraine Outreach initiative that centers real-life experiences of people living with migraine across the continent, to raise awareness, break the silence, fight stigma, and inspire collective advocacy.

"No one is really understanding the direness of migraine." She shares her personal journey with migraine — what it feels like to live with a condition that is routinely underestimated, and the quiet weight of carrying pain that the people around you simply do not grasp. A story that will resonate with anyone who has ever been told their suffering is not serious enough.

"People thought I was faking it for attention. It's just a minor headache. Why is she overreacting? Why is she admitted in the hospital because of a headache?" Habeeba has heard it all. She has faced the dismissal, the disbelief, and the loneliness that comes when your pain is questioned at every turn. Her story is one of persistence, and of refusing to be silent about a condition the world keeps getting wrong.

Most people leave migraine at home. Ify brought it to work — deliberately. Her story is about recognising that migraine does not clock out, and that workplaces across Africa have a responsibility to understand what their employees are quietly carrying.

"Migraine affects quality of life from childhood through adulthood. I had a banging headache on my own wedding day." Her story spans a lifetime. From the childhood attacks that no one could explain, to a condition that followed her into her most significant moments. Her journey captures what it truly means to live with migraine across every stage of life, and why awareness cannot wait.
Migraine Voices Africa is more than storytelling, it’s the start of a movement for visibility, support, and equity in migraine care across Africa.
